The following Sound Systems families are included under the electrical ribbon. Click on the Sound Systems devices to learn more about the family.

List of Electrical Sound Systems Families for Revit®

This family is a non-hosted Electrical Fixture. The amplifiers are imported with a default elevation of 0”. The elevation is to be adjusted as necessary, since the amplifier does not have a host. The actual outline of the amplifier does not appear on the plan view. The actual dimensions of the amplifier are only visible on elevation and 3D views. Instead, what you will see is the module symbol as shown. Within each type you are allowed to adjust the device dimensions and the symbol letter – default set as “AM”. You can also adjust the electrical load. When you connect the amplifier to a panel, the VA value will populate within the panel.

This family is a hosted, Communications Device. The microphone outlets are imported with a default elevation of 18”. The elevation is to be adjusted as necessary. The actual outline of the microphone outlet does not appear on the plan view. The actual dimensions of the microphone outlet are only visible on elevation and 3D views. Instead, what you will see is the microphone outlet wall symbol as shown. The device is not intended to have power.

This family is a hosted, Communications Device. The speakers are imported at the ceiling level. The actual outline of the speaker does not appear on the plan view. The actual dimensions of the speaker are only visible on elevation and 3D views. Instead, what you will see is the speaker symbol as shown.

This family is a hosted, Communications Device. The speakers are imported to the wall at an elevation of 18”. The actual outline of the speaker does not appear on the plan view. The actual dimensions of the speaker are only visible on elevation and 3D views. Instead, what you will see is the speaker symbol as shown. Make sure you have a wall and make sure you are placing the device via vertical face as opposed to face. The family is hosted, so it will follow the hosted wall. Within each type you are allowed to adjust the device dimensions and the symbol letter – default set as “S”. The visibility check box allows you to select the orientation of the symbol letter as upright or sideways. The device is not intended to have power.
